A week or two ago, I was really wanting to get a new color laser printer. I had decided on the Samsung CLP-315, but didn't get it because I ran out of time and energy in my weekend shopping to get it. Well, I see it again on Staples black Friday ad, and it's tempting me again...
I'm confused, though. My sneak preview email says: "Get a sneak peek at these hot, limited-time offers now. In store and online." When I click on the link, it takes me to a weekly ad that says "Offer valid Nov 28 - Nov 29". On the top of page 1, in a little Christmas ornament decoration, it says "Friday, 6am to 10am, Offers valid in store only". But that's at the TOP of the page, and the printer is one of the items shown at the BOTTOM of the page. Huh?!? Which is it? In-store only? in-store AND online? 6am to 10am only? or Nov 28 - Nov 29?
Since I don't "do" Black Friday shopping, and since I have to work Friday, I guess I have two options. I can either call ahead for clarification, in which case I'm sure the answer will depend on somebody else's unofficial interpretation of the ad. Or, I can just wait until Friday, and attempt to order the printer online and see what happens. If it's really on sale online, I buy it. If not, I cancel. (I suppose a 3rd option would be to try to force a "truth in advertising" claim by printing what I see when I look at the ad regarding the 2 day sale, and then force them to honor the price if it doesn't automatically ring up that way. I honestly don't think I'd be up to pulling that, though.)
